In this installment of SET PIECES we look at the production of Tahir Jetter's web series Hard Times. The story of a personal trainer who turns to stripping to make ends meet, Hard Times was shot over the course of a year from 2013-2014 with a crew of fifteen. Budget for the project was approximately $30,000, raised through personal financing and credit cards. Filmmaker Tahir Jetter talks with us about the stresses of production and the harsh realities of independent filmmaking.
Jetter's followup project and debut feature film "How To Tell You're A Douchebag" premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and has screened at Brooklyn Academy of Music's Cinematek series NEW VOICES IN BLACK CINEMA.
